Shipping & Delivery Policy

Thank you for supporting local, sustainable farming! At virgin city fields (virgincityfields.co.za), we take the cold chain seriously. Because we deliver premium grass-fed meat and organic produce, we ensure your food travels from our facility to your doorstep under strict temperature-controlled conditions.

1. Our Cold Chain Guarantee

To ensure absolute freshness, safety, and quality, your order is packed and transported according to its specific temperature requirements:

  • Chilled Items: All fresh meats, dairy, and produce requiring refrigeration are kept chilled throughout transit.

  • Frozen Items: Any products that require deep freezing are delivered frozen, packed to prevent thawing before they reach you.

We pack our delivery vehicles specifically to maintain these temperatures right up until the moment the box is handed over to you.

2. Weekly Delivery Schedule

  • Cutoff Time: Our store closes for orders every Tuesday at 10:00 PM.

  • Delivery Days: Orders are fulfilled on Fridays. In cases of high order volumes or logistical delays, deliveries may extend into Saturday.

  • Area of Delivery: We currently deliver to specific regions [Insert your city/regions here, e.g., Johannesburg / Pretoria / local areas].

3. Receipt of Delivery & Unpacking

Because our products are fresh, chilled, or frozen, someone must be present to receive the delivery.

  • Immediate Storage: Once you accept your delivery, it is your responsibility to immediately transfer all chilled and frozen items into your refrigerator or freezer. We cannot be held responsible for goods that spoil due to sitting out after a successful handover.

  • Unattended Deliveries: If you know you will not be home, please arrange for a neighbor, estate security gate, or office front desk to accept the delivery on your behalf, provided they have refrigeration facilities.

4. Missed Deliveries

If our driver arrives and no one is available to receive the order:

  • We will return the items to our store facility to keep them safe.

  • We will attempt to arrange an alternative delivery time or coordinate a collection with you.

  • Important Note: Because the cold chain is interrupted when items are loaded, driven out, and brought back, we cannot guarantee product freshness after a delivery has been missed.

5. Delivery Fees

  • Delivery fees are calculated at checkout based on your location.
