Welcome to Assagay Coffee Farm
Assagay Coffee Farm uses only organic fertilisers and foliar sprays in the farming of our 100% Pure Arabica coffee. We are located in the Harrison Valley, halfway between Pietermaritzburg and Durban. Presently there are in the region of 30 000 trees planted on the Harrison Valley Estate. Assagay Coffee Farm employs 10 full-time staff members, with an additional 10-20 pickers during picking season. Everything involved in creating our product is done on the farm by our trained team of local ladies.
Espresso: A dark Medium Roast, principally created for speciality coffee drinks, our Espresso bean is bold, well-balanced and full in flavour, but not as strong as the Dark Roast. It makes the perfect Cappuccino and Espresso. Ground finely for the Espresso machine, or available in full bean for those who grind their own.
Select Roast: Borrowing flavours from the Medium and Dark Roasts combined to create our unique blend. Select is a good all-rounder, anytime-of-the-day coffee and our most popular roast. Suitable for filter, plunger or grind your own for a delicious Cappuccino.
Dark Roast: Roasted the longest to release the aromatic and flavourful oils within the bean, our Dark Roast is strong bodied and sharp while remaining smooth to the palate. A large, glossy bean carefully roasted so as not to be burnt.
Medium Roast: Low in acidity with an attractive cinnamon coloured bean, our Medium Roast is light and delicate in flavour, rounded but not over-powering in strength.
